Are you a teacher? Do you teach Elementary School Students in the 4th or 5th grade? Are you looking for a class of Chinese students with whom you can exchange letters written in English?
If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you're in luck! My site-mate (Bethany) and I have students who are eager to write. You might be asking yourself, "But what about the mail, isn't that expensive?" The answer is no! The Coverdell World Wise Schools program may be willing to pay (or we could always email).
Anyway, if people are interested I will talk with Bethany about the logistics. Just click the comments link below or send me an email.
Actually, I have done very little research on this project and I may later recant. This posting is to gauge the interest level.

Dustin, I am working at the kids' school now as a para, and on the playground. Would you like me to talk to the 4th and 5th grade teachers to see what kind of response I get? Let me know. Love and miss you.
They wont pay for any postage...but they will send the teacher a packet of information with lesson plans on how to teach different cultural lessons, etc. With easy access to email on both ends, this will work out good: you'll have the option to send snail mail at a cost, or do the quik response email method!
Hi Dustin. I have the honor of occupying your former classroom at Penny Creek. I would be interested in having my 5th graders exchange email/letters with Chinese students. Let me know if the idea works out.
Hi Dustin- Well I have to say that I am really enjoying the wonderful job you left for your adventure of a lifetime. I am taking care of Ken to the best of my ability. I know my kids would love to write to the children in China-maybe a field trip- think Shelley will pay for that? :) We miss you much and think of you often, let me know if the letter idea works- I can figure out postage on my end.
take care,
Laurie Miller
Hope you are enjoying your "American candy" - nothin' like a good ol' red vine to bring back memories. . . .My Nat. Geog. atlas did not show the caves you went to but it looks like Guizhou is quite mountainous and laced with many rivers. Do you travel to these other towns by car? The pictures on your blog are very good. Take good care - Marilyn Donohew
Hi Mr. Ooley! How's China? Mr. Harvey ROCKS! I am a student of his...but I'd prefer (for safety reasons) to remain anounymous (I kinda suck at spelling). Everyone says hi, even Mr. Harvey. Is China fun? Hope your having fun in China!
-Anounymous (still don't know how to spell it!) student
